Sly and the Family Stone war eine amerikanische Rock, Funk, und Soulband aus San Francisco. Aktiv von 1967 bis 1983 war die Band herausragend in der Weiterentwicklung von 
Soul, Funk, und Psychedelicmusic. Gef�rt von S�nger, Produzent und Multi-instrumentalist Sly Stone wechselte die Band st�ndig ihre Mitglieder und beinhaltete Br�der, Freunde
von Sly. Die Gruppe gilt als erste Multikultiband mit schwarzen, wei�en, M�nnern und Frauen in einer Band.
Bedeutende K�nstler, wie Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince, Chuck D, und John Mayer f�hlten sich von Sly and the Family Stone inspiriert.

It is Sly's best work and all the songs are groovin'. You will feel yourself dancing to this music. 
Released just before the group's celebrated performance at the Woodstock festival, it became the band's most commercially successful album to date. It includes several well-known songs, among them hit singles, such as "Sing a Simple Song", "I Want to Take You Higher", "Stand!", and "Everyday People"
