[img(width=316 height=60)]links/images/splogo.jpg[/img] The complete 70's replica CD collection covers eight albums from 1970-78 by one of the world's greatest bands. In the field of HM they have become legendary and this collection shows the era with Ozzy singing, which for some has never been surpassed. These albums weave a complicated path through changes in style covering sadness, fantasy, sinister evil, sci-fi and social problems as well as other themes. Black Sabbath stands out in originality. There is nothing unoriginal in all eight albums from the intricate solos and chord progressions, to the beautiful lyrics or bass lines. These masterpieces have been faithfully remastered and now sound as good as they ever will. Black Sabbath - The album with a sinister picture, a dark album with the haunting "Black Sabbath" and classics such as "NIB" and "Sleeping Village/Warning". The second half of the album features lengthy sections of guitar rather than separate tracks giving a form quite different to the usual format of HM Paranoid - The soloing end to their debut album continues with the meteoric "War Pigs", and then the title track which is one of the few songs served to the public. The album covers sci-fi "Electric Funeral/Iron Man/Planet Caravan" as well as the drug scene ending with the comical "Fairies wear boots". The song "Iron Man" contrasts usual HM by not having any rhythm guitar in the solo sections Master of reality - This album is relentless like the rocket engines it describes. The feel here is sci-fi and also includes two beautiful instrumentals of "Embryo/Orchid". Classics include "Sweet Leaf/Children of the grave" and the heart rending "Solitude". A very accessible album that draws you in quickly. Vol. 4 - Lengthy songs are a feature of Black Sabbath and "Wheels of confusion" is of this type. "Tomorrows Dream/Changes" are two songs for the general public being original but easily accessed. Then on to two milestones "Supernaut" and one of the most beautiful rock tracks ever: "Snowblind". More instrumental music in the form of "Laguna sunrise" confirms Black Sabbath has a softer side. From these eight albums you could make a serene gentle album from these sorts of tracks. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - More themes come to light here: existence, love or the machinations of greed/life. A popular album with the dark "A national acrobat" and the insane "Killing yourself to live". It spirals from one theme to another and there always seems to be something more to understand about the music or lyrics. Sabotage - Some unforgettable moments on this album. The hypnotic "Hole in the sky" sets things off before the classic "Symptom of the universe". This song seems to have everything: power chord solidarity, a wondrous solo and then true to Black Sabbath a gentle melodic ending. The lengthy "Megalomania" gives a sinister insight into the mind with breathtaking lyrics which are difficult to hear sometimes. There also the Soviet like "Supertzar" instrumental and more greats like "Am I going insane (radio)" before the intricate "The writ." Technical ecstasy - I have never understood the criticism of this fine album. Some would have you believe it's not a good album and this is nonsense. It has four classics: "Back street kids," "You won't change me," "Rock `n' roll doctor" and "Dirty women". All the other tracks are great too! It just doesn't draw you in like Master of reality does. It has the unusual and addictive "It's alright" with "Gypsy" and "All moving parts (stand still)" making a comprehensively original album. Never say die! - Another hugely over criticised album. The song "A hard road" describes to me the way the world is rather nicely. The songs are quite lengthy with the likes of "Johnny Blade" reminding me of the book `A Clockwork Orange' with its bizarre synthesizers. "Shock Wave" is another under rated classic. Fantasy or sci-fi doesn't feature so much in this album, it's more to do with society and this links it with Technical ecstasy. "Over to you" is another classic that many won't listen to. Black Sabbath is a revelation of originality from its name to "Swinging the chain". A testament to endurance and genius that anyone managed to keep up this standard for eight albums. A boxset to treasure. 320 kbps + artwork 873 mb 1970 - Black Sabbath 01 Black Sabbath 02 The Wizard 03 Behind The Wall Of Sleep 04 N.I.B. 05 Evil Woman 06 Sleeping Village 07 The Warning 1970 - Paranoid 01 War Pigs 02 Paranoid 03 Planet Caravan 04 Iron Man 05 Electric Funeral 06 Hand Of Doom 07 Rat Salad 08 Fairies Wear Boots 1971 - Master Of Reality 01 Sweet Leaf 02 After Forever 03 Embryo 04 Children Of The Grave 05 Orchid 06 Lord Of This World 07 Solitude 08 Into The Void 1972 - Vol4 01 Wheels Of Confusion 02 Tomorrows Dream 03 Changes 04 FX 05 Supernaut 06 Snowblind 07 Cornucopia 08 Laguna sunrise 09 St. Vitus Dance 10 Under The Sun 1973 - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 01 Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 02 A National Acrobat 03 Fluff 04 Sabbra Cadabra 05 Killing Yourself to Live 06 Who Are You 07 Looking for Today 08 Spiral Architect 1975 - Sabotage 01 Hole In The Sky 02 Don't Start (Too Late) 03 Symptom Of The Universe 04 Megalomania 05 Thrill Of It All 06 Supertzar 07 Am I Going Insane (Radio) 08 The Writ 1976 - Technical Ecstasy 01 Back Street Kids 02 You Won't Change Me 03 It's Alright 04 Gypsy 05 All Moving Parts (Stand Still) 06 Rock 'N' Roll Doctor 07 She's Gone 08 Dirty Women 1978 - Never Say Die! 01 Never Say Die 02 Johnny Blade 03 Junior's Eyes 04 A Hard Road 05 Shock Wave 06 Air Dance 07 Over To You 08 Breakout 09 Swinging The Chain
