Soul

The Stylistics sind eine Soulgesangsgruppe aus Philadelphia und geh�rten zu den bekanntesten Philly-Sound-Bands in den 70ern. Gegr�ndet 1968 von Russell Thompkins, Jr., Herb Murrell, Airrion Love, 
James Smith und James Dunn. Ihre Hits waren Balladen gepr�gt durch den Falsetto Gesang von Russell Thompkins, Jr. TOptenhits waren u.a. "Stop, Look, Listen", "You Are Everything", "Betcha by Golly, 
Wow", "People Make the World Go Round", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", und "You Make Me Feel Brand New".

Their finest album, the Stylistics climbed the "sweet" soul mountain in 1974. "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and the title cut were among the year's prime love/romance numbers, and Russell Tompkins, Jr. had nudged past Blue Magic's Ted Mills and the Delfonics' Hart brothers as the falsetto voice of choice among female fans. Their run on Avco was one of the greatest in modern soul annals.
