Mai 1952 in Dumbarton, Schottland) ist ein britisch-US-amerikanischer Musiker (Gesang und Gitarre) schottischer Herkunft. 1975 gründete er die Post-Punk- und New-Wave-Gruppe Talking Heads mit und wurde als deren Frontmann bekannt. Seine erste, gemeinsam mit Brian Eno aufgenommene Platte My Life in the Bush of Ghosts gilt als wegweisend für die Verwendung von (damals analogem) Sampling vorwiegend traditioneller ethnischer Musik.
