Steve Hillage (* 2. August 1951 in Chingford, London, als Stephen Simpson Hillage) ist ein britischer Musiker und Produzent. Neben anderen Bands war er in den fr�hen 1970er Jahren insbesondere als Gitarrist bei der Band Gong erfolgreich. 1975 verlie� er Gong und ve?�ffentlichte danach mehrere Alben unter seinem eigenen Namen. In den 1980er Jahren war er �berwiegend als Produzent t�tig.
1975 nahm Hillage mit Miquette Giraudy und Dave Stewart sowie den Gong-Kollegen Pierre Moerlen, Didier Malherbe, Mike Howlett, Tim Blake und Gilli Smyth sein erstes Solo-Album "Fish Rising" auf.

Steve Hillage sears the aural landscape, having great fun with effects, rifts, and melodies. His guitar playing is inspired and the musicians on board with him are clearly in synch. It's fun to hear some of the odd arrangements and combinations (love the bassoon!), and on the instrumental segments clearly dominate.
 "Fish Rising" is very spacey with loads of atmospheric synthesizer work from Tim Blake, technically superior drumming from Pierre Moerlen, virtuosic guitar work from Steve Hillage, and rumbling bass playing from Mike Howlett.
