Although not as commercially successful as many of their contemporaries, albeit with a greater number of chart entries, Sham 69 has been a huge musical and lyrical influence on the Oi! and streetpunk genres. The band allegedly derived their name from a piece of football-related graffiti . Punk never dies! Who Killed Joe Public is the Eleventh studio album by punk rock band Sham 69 and the second album not to feature original singer Jimmy Pursey. Surprisingly brilliant. Sounds like sham without sounding like sham. You will see what I mean. London punk at it's best from men who should know better and the dub track that every second division 70's punk band has to have is good for a frug and reminder that although most of the '77 crowd should have been put out of their misery decades ago, maybe Sham have earned a late reprieve.
