New Wave

Killing Joke ist eine 1979 gegr�ndete britische Punk-Band, die musikalisch sich in Richtung Gothic/EBM entwickelte. S�nger und Keyboarder Jaz Coleman und Schlagzeuger Paul Ferguson (Big Paul) schalteten am 24. Februar 1979 im britischen Musikmagazin Melody Maker eine Anzeige, �ber die Gitarrist Geordie (Kevin Walker) und Bassist Youth (Martin Glover) zu der Band stie�en und Killing Joke komplettierten. Ihr Deb�tkonzert gab die Band am 4. August 1979 in der Whitcombe Lodge in Colemans Heimatstadt Cheltenham als Vorgruppe von The Ruts und The Selecter.
Bereits die erste, im Jahr 1979 auf dem von der Band mitgetragenenem Label "Malicious Damage" ver�ffentlichte Single Turn to Red wurde, nicht zuletzt durch die Unterst�tzung des Radio-DJs John Peel, ein Untergrundhit.

This album is a product of Youth's Dragonfly records label which has made a such a profound impact on the goa/psychedelic trance scene over the years with many of its artists already considered legendary. Now if you were to to do any kind of research on the history of goa/psychedelic trance you would find out that many of the core beliefs and inspirations blend in perfectly with killing joke's and vice versa. The remixes on this album make more sense when you understand this connection and I would hope that killing joke fans would give it a listen with the same regard that trance fans (and artists) have given to killing joke.
