New Wave

Killing Joke ist eine 1979 gegr�ndete britische Punk-Band, die musikalisch sich in Richtung Gothic/EBM entwickelte. S�nger und Keyboarder Jaz Coleman und Schlagzeuger Paul Ferguson (Big Paul) schalteten am 24. Februar 1979 im britischen Musikmagazin Melody Maker eine Anzeige, �ber die Gitarrist Geordie (Kevin Walker) und Bassist Youth (Martin Glover) zu der Band stie�en und Killing Joke komplettierten. Ihr Deb�tkonzert gab die Band am 4. August 1979 in der Whitcombe Lodge in Colemans Heimatstadt Cheltenham als Vorgruppe von The Ruts und The Selecter.
Bereits die erste, im Jahr 1979 auf dem von der Band mitgetragenenem Label "Malicious Damage" ver�ffentlichte Single Turn to Red wurde, nicht zuletzt durch die Unterst�tzung des Radio-DJs John Peel, ein Untergrundhit.

This is one of those recordings where I only really listen to one of the two discs, and in this case it's the live one.
Yes, it's bootleg quality but you can still really crank it loud with some equalization added - but the playing is phenominal.
The studio disc, disc 1 incredible as this may sound, I have almost no recollection of it except I played it once knowing that I would never play it again, strange thing is I thought there were outtakes from Brighter Than A Thousand Suns on mine, but I could be wrong.
But it's worth it as far as the live recording goes, as it really rocks well.
