Oktober 1945 in New York City, New York) ist eine US-amerikanische R&B-Sängerin und Schauspielerin. Von 1975 bis 2011 hatte sie 33 Hits in den amerikanischen R&B-Charts. Zweimal erreichte sie die Spitze: 1986 mit A Little Bit More und 1987 mit Falling. Im Standardwerk Top R&B Singles 1942-1995 wird sie auf Platz 18 der erfolgreichsten Künstler der 1980er Jahre gelistet. In den 2000er Jahren wandte Moore sich der Gospel-Musik zu. Gelegentlich tritt sie weiterhin in Broadwayshows auf. 2003 spielte sie in dem Film Fighting Temptations an der Seite von Cuba Gooding, Jr. und Beyoncé Knowles. What a great album. All songs are strong, some epic and Melba is in fine voice, matching Patti Labelle on the gospel notes and also singing with beautiful range. The production is top notch and Joe Tarsia does one of his best mastering jobs ever, hand down. Her voice floats over the mix never overshadowing it but perfectly placed with great instrumental separation.
