Der erste Hit war "Slide" von 1977. Es folgten noch einige in den R&B Charts. SLAVE were already established from the 70's and there early works was funk but 70's funk a far cry from 80's funk which had the introduction of the synthesiser or possible drum machines though SLAVE performed with live instruments Drums Bass Guitar etc...
