Archive ist eine englische Musikgruppe aus London. Anfangs eine Trip-Hop-Band, vereint ihre Musik Einfl�sse aus Trip-Hop, Post- und Indie-Rock. Die Band wurde 1994 von Darius Keeler und Danny Griffiths gegr�ndet, welche schon vorher zusammen in der Breakbeat-Hardcore-Band Genaside II gespielt hatten. Nach einiger Zeit wollten sie ihren Musikstil jedoch ausweiten und begannen, ihre eigenen Lieder zu schreiben. Das erste Album (zusammen mit der S�ngerin Roya Arab und dem Rapper Rosko John) namens Londinium erschien 1996 bei Island Records. Es war stark beeinflusst von Massive Attack, enthielt aber auch Rap- und Alternative-Rock-Elemente.

New collection of dark, down tempo songs, where Archive and his guests make us hover in dark clouds. The first three chapters had a political and social dimension, this one is more intimate. Recorded with fewer resources, in less time and with personal pain, these songs lock you in a narrow room with the malaise of their protagonists. Released in the spring, I-III was full of cynicism and criticism; IV, released in the autumn, is an invitation to depression without return, to unconditional surrender.
A sequel to the previous album, this one is also the presentation of a band on the side and without pressure. Most of the tracks follow the typical format developed by the band: catchy rhythms over ethereal layers, loops that open onto each other to create the progression that gets the music and its listener off the ground.
