Willkommen zu THE VAULT f�r 1981. Einige der enthaltenen Titel waren Top-40-Hits, 
andere verpassten die Charts komplett. 
Einige standen stellvertretend f�r Bestseller-Alben, andere waren gro�e Hits in den USA, 
aber nicht in Gro�britannien. 
Doch alle sind Teil der wunderbaren Pop-Geschichte von 1981. 
45 Titel auf 3 LPs - NOW Yearbook - The Vault: 1981, 
gepresst in wundersch�nem transparentem lila Vinyl.

NOW That’s What I Call Music ver�ffentlicht die vierte Ausgabe ihrer Vault-Reihe mit einem Schwerpunkt auf dem Jahr 1981.

Diese Sammlungen enthalten Singles, die weniger zusammengestellt wurden, 
haupts�chlich weil sie entweder keine gro�en Hits waren, die Charts komplett verpassten oder auf der anderen Seite des Atlantiks, 
aber nicht in Gro�britannien, gro�e Hits waren. Die Formate bleiben unver�ndert: 
Deluxe- und Standard-4-CDs (82 Titel) sowie ein 3-LP-Set auf transparentem lila Vinyl (45 Titel).

CD 1 enth�lt Heaven 17s „(We Don’t Need) This Fascist Groove Thang“ (bekannt, aber kein Hit), 
„Never Gonna Cry Again“ vom exzellenten, aber hitarmen Deb�talbum „In The Garden“ der Eurythmics, 
Debbie Harrys „The Jam Was Moving (von Kookoo)“, „Paint Me Down“ vom zweiten Album „Diamond“ von Spandau Ballet, 
eine Single, die im Vergleich zu ihrem Vorg�nger schlecht abschnitt (Platz 30 in Gro�britannien) 
[„Chant No. 1 (I Don’t Need This Pressure On)“ schaffte es in die Top 5], „Dancing With Myself“ 
von Generation X und „Young Parisians“ von Adam & The Ants.

Die zweite CD pr�sentiert Rock-Acts wie Bruce Springsteen („The River“), 
John Cougar Mellencamp („Ain’t Even Done With The Night“), Rush („Tom Sawyer“), Rainbow („Can’t Happen Here“) 
und Thin Lizzy („Trouble Boys“) und geht sp�ter mit Tracks von Sister Sledge, Commodores, Rick James, 
Chaka Khan und Evelyn „Champagne“ King in Richtung Soul/R&B.

CD 3 ist etwas Indie-lastiger und enth�lt Songs von The Cure, New Order, The Creatures, Echo & The Bunnymen, 
The Teardrop Explodes, The Stranglers, The Clash und anderen.

Die letzte CD von Vault ’81 enth�lt weniger zusammengestellte Tracks von K�nstlern wie Pretenders, Pat Benetar, 
REO Speedwagon, Rick Springfield, Jim Steinman, Kim Carnes, Dolly Parton, Diana Ross und Christopher Cross.
